If you are the second type then you are also treading on thin ice but its good that you haven't done anything silly yet. You just have to question your commitment. Make sure this is really for you and remember you have to make a lot of effort to succeed, its the same with pretty much everything in life. Saying that its a pretty enjoyable thing to do!

Kind No 3

If you are the third option then this is also a dangerous time for you because this is where you are close to giving up. You've had your hands burnt and now you are suspicious about everyone who claims to make money online. Well I don't blame you because this is where I have been and it isn't a very nice feeling.

The Pain of the Short Term Fix

I was introduced to internet marketing in about April 2009 and I signed up for a very expensive course but was caught up in the excitement of it all The course was designed with strategies that were based on fast returns. Initially they worked but then they disappeared as fast as they had turned up. The program without this had no substance to it at all and it has left me considerably out of pocket and it is not money I can afford to lose. I worked very hard in the program and sacrificed a lot of my time.

Having got my hands burnt I was still looking for a quick fix (in reality). So this time it was Clickbank the online source for affiliate products (there are some good products in there). I dived in there and bought into the clever sales copy that covers some of the products in there. Maybe you know the ones that get you excited about making tens of thousands of dollars a month if you just follow simple strategies and amazingly with just a few hours of your time. The reality is that the strategies are extremely complex, for example PPC campaigns (pay per click), and it takes expert knowledge to know what you are doing and its very time consuming and well if you make any kind of profit you probably just got lucky! Now I don't know about you but is the lucky strategy the way to go?

The promise of short term gains, does it every time!

It is experiences like this that really make the brain tick over. The answers were there all the time, I just hadn't thought it through enough.

I've heard about "the secret" but never read it. Just from very vague conversations with other people, I am guessing that its all about being yourself, following your experiences in life, your believes, your passion and as a result happiness and fulfilment are a consequence of that. 

Look I am not getting into the wishy washy magic spell, fairytale stuff here but this is a very critical point. The reason for this, is that this is the stuff that is going to protect you against the punishment of the short term fix. What is going to keep you interested when you have to repeat the same actions over and over again? What is going to drive you when you come up against a brick wall? What is going to get you excited when you wake up in the morning?

You have to ask yourself, what am I passionate about? Sometimes this is not so obvious, so you will have to dig deep. What have you always had an interest in? What experiences have shaped your life?

Successful Internet Marketing, as far as I can see is about shared experiences and writing is a large part of it. How long would it take you to write about something you don't know anything about? If I told you that you had to write about a subject that you had no real interest in everyday for the foreseeable future, how would you feel? Do you think you will become successful promoting this subject? No it will be a matter of time before you give up and wonder why it didn't work.

So what I'm trying to say here is that, don't try to promote something just because you are drawn by the promise of financial gain. This won't be enough to drive you through to success. It takes a lot of work to receive sustainable rewards and the only thing that's going to get you through is your passion for that product or service.

This is one of the most important points I have learned so far. I hope you will take it to heart because it will save you a lot of pain.

The second most important thing is that I participate in a program which I find exciting. I trust the mentor of that program and I get to interact with others who are on a similar journey.
